Lucy Mathews Russian

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Lucy Theresa Mathews Russian, 88, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Dimetrius "Metro" Russian, died Wednesday evening, June 15, 2011, at Marsh View Senior Living under the care of Odyssey Hospice.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Antonio "Tony" C. Mathews and the late Sarah Cannarella Mathews. Mrs. Russian was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked with her dad for many years at Mathews Seafood at Congress and West Broad Streets. Mrs. Russian was in the legal profession for 46 years and last worked.in the office of attorney Leon Friedman.
Survivors include one sister, Connie Mathews Cessor, of Blue Springs, Missouri; one brother, Paul C. Mathews of Savannah, Georgia, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend John J. Lyons. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
