SAVANNAH, GEORGIA AND STUART, FLORIDA - Lt. Col. Stanley Norfolk Simpson, U. S. Air Force (Ret), 93, of Savannah, Georgia, and formerly of Stuart, Florida, husband of Laurana Lyon Simpson, died Monday morning, March 22, 2010, at Savannah Square in Savannah, Georgia under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Simpson was of the Episcopal faith. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Simpson retired after 20 years as an insurance agent for National Union Insurance Company.
Surviving are his wife Laurana Lyon Simpson of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Shannon Maury Simpson and his wife, Julie, of Gainesville, Georgia and Stanley Chip Simpson and his wife, Patricia, of Savannah, Georgia, and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Samuel W. Watkins. Interment will be private.
