SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Today we are celebrating the homecoming of Lt. Robert "Robbie" Eulie Coleman, 61, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Theresa Robbin Smith Coleman, who died Saturday evening, March 27, 2010, at his home under the care of Odyssey Hospice.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late James Floyd Coleman and the late Geneva Turner Coleman. Mr. Coleman was a devout Christian. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served in Vietnam. Robbie retired as a Lieutenant with the Chatham County Sheriff's Department after twenty three years of service. He was an avid bowler and softball player. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother Ted Robertson.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa Robbin Smith Coleman; one daughter, Gena Prazer and her husband, Darin, of Augusta, Georgia; three sons, Benje Coleman and his wife, JoElla, of Rincon, Georgia, Vaughn Coleman and his wife, Sara, of Savannah, Georgia, and Britt Coleman and his wife, Natalia, of Surry, Virginia; one sister, Alpaharine Justice and her husband, Larry, of Goose Creek, South Carolina; two brothers, Otis Coleman and his wife, Jody, of Oxford, North Carolina and Steve Coleman and his wife, Terry, of Rincon, Georgia; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Coleman, Jordan Coleman, Jadyn Coleman, Grace Coleman and Riley Coleman, and his large extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at Grace Church of the Islands conducted by The Reverend Brannen Bowman and Brother Jim Vanis.  Interment, with full military honors, will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park - East.
