Loyce Henry Bratton, 83, of Savannah, Georgia, and husband of Gail Parks Bratton, passed away Tuesday evening, May 31, 2022, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born March 4, 1939 to the late Willie and Thelma Bratton in Thorsby, Alabama, Henry worked for many years as an ironworker, both on submarines and spacecraft. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, worked in the bus ministry, and with puppets in children's church. He also volunteered to operate the sound system at several churches as well as donated sound equipment. Henry would volunteer at various functions for Garden City and Port Wentworth. For four years, he delivered Meals on Wheels.
Henry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gail Parks Bratton; daughters Susan Boatright and her husband Butch, and Laurie Browning and her husband, Danny; six grandchildren, six great-grandchilden, one great-great grandchild; a sister, Mary Ellen Smith ??and her husband Ronnie of Birmingham, Alabama; brothers, Thomas Bratton of Waveland, Mississippi, Richard Bratton and his wife Olean of Austell, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held at 3:30 Friday afternoon, June 3, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, conducted by the Reverend Thomas W. East, Jr. Interment will take place in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
