SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Louise M. Gutnick Ruben, 87, of Savannah, Goergia, died Wednesday morning, December 28, 2010, at Hospice Savannah.
Born on November 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Leo Marx and the late Freida Marx. Mrs. Ruben worked in the Montefiore Home finance department for over 25 years. She served as President of the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary and the Montefiore Volunteers Auxiliary, and volunteered for many years with the Montefiore Posh Nosh Café. Mrs. Ruben traveled extensively with her husband and always enjoyed being around her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death after 51 years of marriage by her husband, Sol "Peck" Ruben.
Surviving are her daughter, Dorain "Dee" Baruch and her husband, Kalman, of Savannah, Georgia; her son, Bruce Ruben and his wife, Marilyn, of Cleveland, Ohio; her grandchildren, Felissa Baruch Covin and her husband, Josh, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Benjamin Baruch of Boulder, Colorado, and great-grandchildren, Jessica Robin and Zachary Scott.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at the graveside, Bet Olam Cemetery in Beachwood, Ohio.
The family will sit Shiva beginning Sunday evening at Buckingham South.
