Louis Carroll Gunn III, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 2, 2017. He was born in Savannah, Georgia on September 1, 1942.
He was a graduate of Savannah High School and attended Toccoa Falls Bible College. Louis served in the 117th Air Control Squadron ' Air National Guard. He also served many years with the March of Dimes, where he was named the local campaign chairman in 1975. Louis was employed by Memorial University Medical Center as a patient accounts manager and later began his long time career as an insurance agent.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Carroll Gunn, Jr. and Hazel Colson Gunn.
Surviving are wife of 47 years, Carolyn Hitt Gunn; his son, Brian (Mandi) and children Emma, Matthew, and Luke; and his son, Wesley (Mica) and children, Taylor, Kade, and Gavin.
He loved his family, but his love for the Lord was seen by the way he treated others. Louis was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served in various ministries. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at Southside Baptist Church conducted by The Reverend Dr. Stuart Doyle and The Reverend Bill Bozeman. Interment will be private.
