Louis 'Big Lou' Joseph Genitempo, 68, of Eden, Georgia, died Friday morning, January 27, 2017, at Effingham Hospital in Springfield, Georgia.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Nichols Genitempo and the late Margaret Decembrino Genitempo. Big Lou was a United States Navy veteran having served two tours in Vietnam. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. Big Lou loved his family, his friends, and serving his country.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Pierman Genitempo; one daughter, Christy Genitempo; two sons, Steven R. Genitempo and Anthony Genitempo; one sister, Marie Mastropasqua; one brother, Nick Genitempo, and ten grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service, with military honors, will be at 10 Wednesday at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
