Louis Friedenberg, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. He was the loving husband of Pearl Seligman Friedenberg, OBM.



Lou was a U. S. Marine stationed in Parris Island, SC from November 16, 1951 to November 6, 1953. He met Pearl on Tybee Island while stationed at Parris Island. After his discharge, he started a career at Chatham Steel until he retired after 40 years. Then he worked for Newell Recycling in Atlanta until his second retirement.



Lou was a Scout Master of Troop 2 of the Jewish Educational Alliance for four years. He also volunteered for the Savannah Police Department for an additional 22 years and received the Volunteer of the Year award numerous times.



He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Ann Friedenberg of Atlanta, and his son, Ricky (Barbara) Friedenberg of Savannah; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Friedenberg and Erin (Jordan) Rubinstein, and his three great-grandchildren, Jake Friedenberg, Joshua Rubinstein, and Elle Rubinstein.



The funeral service will be held at 9:30 Thursday morning, July 7, 2022, at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
