SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Lorraine Kahn Lubar, 88, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Gary Lubar, died Thursday evening, April 28, 2011, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Julius Kahn and the late Ray Hirsch Kahn. Mrs. Lubar was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Texas in Austin and a former translator for Pan American Air Lines. Mrs. Lubar loved photography and was an avid reader. She was a loving and beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Lubar of Savannah, Georgia, Patricia Lubar Scheuer of Austin, Texas, and Kathy J. Lubar and her husband, George Kinder, of Littleton, Massachusetts, and three grandchildren, Jennifer Scheuer, London Lubar Kinder and Rachel Lubar Kinder.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
