Mrs. Lola Mae Deal, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 27, 2013, after a brief stay at Memorial Health University.
Lola was born on December 17, 1925, in Tattnall County.?? She is survived by her loving husband, Lonnie Deal, also of Tattnall County, with whom she spent 66 happy years in marriage.?? She was a faithful member of Bull Street Baptist Church for 65 years.?? She spent 40 years working in retail sales where she served many customers and built lifelong friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lola Westberry; a son-in-law, Gregory Marvin; brothers, Jack and Morrison Westberry, and sisters, Molly Jones and Mary Bailey.
Lola will be deeply missed by her family, daughter Patricia Marvin Lawrence and her husband, Tom; granddaughter, Laurie Wallace and her husband, Jeff; three great-grandchildren, Garrison, Halley and Emmerson Wallace;?? three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Lola enjoyed gardening and spent much time planting flowers and working diligently in her yard as well as spending time serving her family by encouraging, loving and lifting them up to the Lord.?? She was a meek and gentle spirit whose warmth will be deeply missed by many.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday, September 30, 2013, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held?? at 11 o'clock Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Bull Street Baptist Church conducted by The Reverend R. Calvin Fowler III. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Bull Street Baptist Church or Hospice Savannah.
