SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Lois Still Rovolis, 86, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of George Tash Rovolis, died Saturday morning, December 26, 2009, at Marsh Haven after a long illness.
She was born on August 12, 1923, to Elisha and Zilpha Harley Still of Olar, South Carolina, who preceded her in death. She was married to George Tash Rovolis for 64 years, who preceded her in death in 2003. Mrs. Rovolis retired from Sears after 30 years where she made many lifelong friends. She was a revered Canasta player and an avid gardener. She will be remembered for her kind heart and deep love for her family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, George Rovolis, sisters Nell Cooper and Carolyn Corbbit, sister-in-law, Joyce Still, son-in-law Bobby Rossiter and special niece Betty Hines.
Surviving are her daughter, Rose Ellen Rossiter of Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, George "Ronnie" Rovolis and his wife, Bette Ann, of Savannah, Georgia, and Anthony "Tony" Rovolis and his wife, Linda, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; six grandchildren, Colleen Humphries, James Rovolis, Bobby Rossiter, Stephen Rossiter, Jason Rovolis, and Amanda Rovolis; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosella Ferreira and Willie Sears and one brother, Harley Still, all of Olar, South Carolina; her loyal loving sisters-in-law, Helen Sullivan, Christine Rovolis, Betty Rovolis, Anna Davis, Rose Nichols, and Dolly Behnken, and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Thomas R. Terry. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
