Logan McCay, 12, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away all too soon in his young life on August 23, 2021, on his way to school. He was a seventh grade student at Coastal Middle School on Whitemarsh Island. Teachers and staff said Logan often uplifted and supported his fellow classmates, and that he brought joy and kindness into the classrooms. The students at Coastal Middle School adopted Logan's pet gecko. His classmates are the gecko's new caretakers.
Logan's unconditional love for animals, nature and the people around him will be remembered by all who knew him. He left his family and friends with memories to last a lifetime.
Logan is loved and remembered by his father, Clay Charles McCay; his brother, Si Hunter McCay; grandparents, Thomas and Constance McCay, and Carol Palmer McCay; aunt, MaryAnn McCay Cornett and her children, Ansley McCay Cornett and Trent David Cornett; uncle, Adam Michael McCay; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
May his memory be eternal.
A private memorial service will be held on September 18.
It is the family's wish that any memorial tributes be made in Logan's name in the form of charitable donations to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) online at
