Linda Gray Flinchum Koons, 80, of Pooler, Georgia and wife of 1SG Charles William Koons, United States Army (Ret.), died Saturday evening, October 10, 2020, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late William Mallard Flinchum and the late Faith Imogene Tucker Flinchum. Linda was of the Moravian faith. She was a former member of Union Cross Moravian Church in Union Cross, North Carolina, and First Moravian Church of Georgia in Tucker, Georgia. She was a retired customer service representative. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and her four dogs, doing crafts, word puzzles, and reading,
Surviving are her husband of almost 50 years, 1SG Charles William Koons, United States Army (Ret.); one daughter, Leigh Ann Simpson and her husband, Andrew; one son, H. Dean Cromer and his wife, Sara; six grandchildren, Amanda Cromer Kimble and her husband, Charles, Benjamin Cromer, Victoria Minton and her husband, Drew, Asia Clare Koons, Ansleigh Cromer and Alison Grace Longacre; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Pate, Scarlett Minton, Grier Minton, and Baby Minton on the way; three sisters, Kay Boner, Penny Jessup and her husband, Ronnie, and Judy Hunt, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening, October 14, 2020, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Private interment will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
