Linda Delores Price Boaen, 76, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Everette Iseman Boaen, passed peacefully Friday morning, November 25, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late John Price Thompson and the late Dorothy Loraine Harvey Thompson. Linda was a founding member of First Southern Methodist Church of Savannah where she faithfully served for 42 years. While there she was the pianist and organist, served as secretary and treasurer, and was one of the original 'Crafty Ladies'. At the time of her passing, Linda was a member of Compassion Christian Church ' East Campus.
She graduated from Savannah High School and attended Armstrong State College. Linda retired as the administrative assistant to the CEO of The Branigar Organization. Linda was also a former member of the International Order of Rainbow Girls, where she was a Worthy Advisor and representative for Savannah Assembly #1.
She and Everette were childhood sweethearts and they married on August 14, 1960. Together, she and her husband founded Boaen Mechanical in 1983. Everette describes Linda as an extraordinary person, who was the love of his life and the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could have. She was a 'second mom' to many and was one of the last true Southern Belles. Fama, as she was known to her grandchildren, was a very generous person to everyone and always thought of others before herself.
She loved history, genealogy, and politics and was the family historian. She also had a passion for travel and some of her favorite trips included visits to Austria, Alaska, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, James Addison White and Ruth Naomi Edwards White, and two brothers, David Anthony Price and John Jeffrey 'Jeff' Thompson.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Everette Iseman Boaen; one daughter, Sally Ren?? Boaen; one son, Timothy Shawn Boaen and his wife, Kim; two grandchildren, Kayla Boaen Amick and her husband, Scott, and James 'Jamie' Everette Boaen, and her canine companion, Elly. She is also survived by her Aunt Edith Louder, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in- law, and many others whose lives she touched.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Monday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Compassion Christian Church ' East Campus (9150 Old Montgomery Road) conducted by The Reverend Ken Philbeck. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
