SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Lillian G. "Mickey" Murphy, 94 ½ , died October 20, 2011 under the care of Hospice Savannah.
She was well known for her 40 years' experience "estate sales". She served as a pink lady at Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She worked at the voting poles for 36 years, with most of them being the manager at the JEA. She was a member of the "lunch bunch" and was an avid Mahjong player. She also line danced twice a week until the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 ½ years, Walter "Charlton" Murphy and a son Thomas Michael Murphy (2 ½).
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Murphy Weitz and two grandsons, Joseph Trace Weitz and Marc Adam Weitz (Renee) and several nieces and nephews in Savannah and Atlanta. Last, there is Charlie, her four legged grandson who she loved beyond words and who brought a smile to her face every day!
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon at the graveside, Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park - East.
A special thanks to her caregivers Tammy, Rosella and Eleanor who took such great care of her the last few months.
