LeValda Blissett Brooks, 84, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Hoyt Edwin Brooks, died Sunday morning, January 9, 2022, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was daughter of the late Oliver Lee Blissett and the late Ottie Mae Flythe Blissett. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. She retired after 32 years with S. H. Kress. Mrs. Brooks loved working in her yard, crocheting, knitting, and telling jokes.
In addition to her husband of 50 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Clements, and a brother, David Blissett.
Survivors include her son, Oliver L. 'Butch' Brooks; two grandchildren, Mandy Kohel (Daniel) and Patrick Brooks (Mere), and one great-granddaughter, Jane Kohel.
The family will receive friends from 11 until 1 o'clock Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, January 13, 2022, at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, conducted by the Reverend Meg B. Procopio.
