Laura Louise Rahn, 62, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, February 9, 2020, at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Hospice Savannah.
She was born to George Marion Rahn and Virginia Perry Rahn on February 14, 1957 in Savannah, Georgia. She graduated high school from Savannah Country Day School in 1975, then attended Armstrong State College as a English Major from 1975 -1978. Laura had many things to overcome in her life. A car accident in 1980, brain cancer in 2005. And when she was no longer able to live on her own, she was admitted to Tara of Thunderbolt Nursing and Rehabilitation in September 2011. In August 2019, Laura moved to Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center of Savannah with her best friend Jean McCorkel. In her younger years Laura love the beach, sailing, and all that being on the water offers. She was also an avid reader.
In 2011, Laura confirmed her belief in Jesus Christ with Pastor Allan Bosson of Southside Baptist Church.
Laura was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Rahn.
She is survived by her father George Rahn ( Linda Rahn) and brother George Rahn Jr., many aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would like to thank the many nurses and caregivers, at both Tara of Thunderbolt and Riverview of Savannah for their love and care over the years. Also for Hospice Savannah for their compassion, comfort, and care for Laura in the last days of her life.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 o\'clock Monday evening, February 17, 2020, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
A memorial service will be held at 7 o\'clock Monday evening, February 17, 2020, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by the Reverend Jon Humphreys.
