Larry O'Neal Flowers, Sr., 68, of Black Creek, Georgia and husband of Deborah 'Debbie' Boone Flowers, died Sunday afternoon, May 20, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Mobile, Alabama, he was a son of the late Arthur Flowers and the late Ethel Matheny Flowers. Larry was a United States Army veteran. He retired as a Boiler Operator after 42 years with International Paper. Larry was an avid University of Alabama fan who was devoted to his family, his friends, and his work. Roll Tide!!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Roger Turbeville.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Deborah 'Debbie' Boone Flowers of Black Creek; four children, Larry O. Flowers, Jr. and his wife, Carly, of Springfield, Melissa Ramsey and her husband, David, of Jesup, Kevin Flowers and his wife, Jessica, of Guyton, and Christina Flowers of Black Creek; eleven grandchildren, Jace Flowers, Courtney Flowers, Cali Flowers, Alyssa Flowers, Camryn Flowers, Gage Flowers, Brandon Harley, Mariah Harley, Jaeden Sanders, Nolan Higgins and Abram Ramsey; three great-grandchildren, Maximus Harley, Ace Harley and Elena Bacon; one sister, Jackie Turbeville of Frisco City, Alabama; one brother, Mickey Flowers and his wife, Donna, of East Brewton, Alabama; one half-brother, Bobby Drew and his wife, Linda, of Monroeville, Alabama, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock Thursday evening in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be at 11 o'clock Friday morning in Millen City Cemetery in Millen, Georgia.
