Kristi Wilson Michael, a beloved resident of Tybee Island, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, after a brief illness, surrounded by her adoring family.
Born as Kristi Sue Wilson in Moses Lake, Washington, she grew up on a farm where she embraced the values of life and love that would guide her throughout her journey. Eventually, Kristi made Savannah, Georgia, her home, where she and her husband, Stephen Michael, raised a beautiful family. Together, they enjoyed adventures across Oregon, California, Washington DC, and even as far away as Guam. Despite their travels, Kristi always dreamed of returning to Savannah and making Tybee Island her sanctuary by the sea.
Kristi had a deep love for everything related to life in the Pacific Northwest and cherished every opportunity to visit her beloved mountains. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering passionately for the Seattle Seahawks, Oregon Ducks, Savannah Bananas, and Ghost Pirates. Kristi was also a devoted supporter
of military veterans, having proudly served in the US Army for three years. It was at Hunter Army Airfield that she met her lifelong partner, Stephen Michael, and they married soon after. Stephen will continue to honor her love for the Southern coast and her dream of returning to the dunes and salty breezes she cherished so much. Above all, Kristi was a devoted mother to three wonderful children: Chelsea (33), Connor (32), and Caytie (30).
Her brother Terry preceded her in death earlier this year.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Stephen Vincent Michael; her daughter, Chelsea Alexis
Michael Pyles and son-in-law, Loye Grimsley Pyles; her son, Connor Andrew Michael; her daughter, Catherine Alicia Galgani and son-in-law, Stephen Robert Galgani; her grandchildren, Jane Alison Galgani, Elizabeth May Galgani, and Maggie Louise Galgani; her brother, Earl Dean Wilson and her sister-in-law, Sandra K. Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, consider supporting the family directly as they continue to navigate care and financial arrangements, and ensure excellent treatment for Connor above all else.
A Celebration of Kriti's life will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 6 o'clock in the evening at Gamble Funeral Service-410 Stephenson Ave., Savannah.
We believe that our beloved Kristi would look to the words of David Grohl, Christopher Shiflett, Oliver Hawkins, and Nathan Mendel, ‘It’s times like these you learn to live again, it’s times like these you give and give again, it’s times like these you learn to love again, it’s times like these time and time again.”
