Kaye Patricia 'Patsy' Andrews Kaney, 77, passed away on February 8th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.



Patsy was born in Screven County, on October 8th, 1938 to the late Claywood Harlow (Red) Andrews, Sr. and the late Bonnie Jenkins Andrews who raised her to live her life by 'The Golden Rule'. She is also predeceased by her brother, Claywood Harlow (BoBo) Andrews, Jr.



In 1955, she married 'the only man she ever loved', Colyon Stewart (C.S.) Kaney with whom she raised a family during their 61 years of marriage. Patsy adored her family and she loved the Lord. She was a devoted wife, and cherished mom and Nana. Patsy is survived by her husband, C.S., daughters Kay Kaney Rule (John), Colleen Kaney Smith (Dr. Sidney) five grandchildren Candice Rogers (Mitch), Haley Simmons (Wes), Bo Ballance (Gabby), Kaney Ballance (fianc?? Wills Smith), and Gracie Smith; two great-grandchildren Taos Rogers and Marylee Simmons and one additional great-grandbaby on its way.



Together C.S. and Patsy enjoyed many years of charitable service to the community. Among her many recognitions and leadership positions, Patsy was a Past President and former Secretary of the Southeast Regional State of Georgia Christian Women's Fellowship. During her professional career, she served as an executive secretary of Continental Forest Industries.



A woman of faith, Patsy served as an elder and former Chairman of the Board for First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. As the wife of a Past Potentate of Alee Temple Shrine, Patsy spent many of her favorite moments with the Ladies' Auxiliary group and she especially cherished her friendships made in the Alee Shriners Temple.



Patsy was a fierce competitor and loved sports, even playing into her adult years for recreational softball and volleyball leagues. She was an avid and loyal Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fans. Posting an impressive attendance record at her grandchildren's sporting events; she was diligent in her ability to correct the calls of the referees. She was a much loved Nana.



The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 o'clock Wednesday, February 10, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Burial will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.



Pallbearers will be Nana's special guys: John Rule, Sidney Smith MD, Perry Langston, Bo Ballance, John Thomas Rule, Mitch Rogers, Wes Simmons and Wills Smith.



The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Summer Breeze and Hospice House for the compassionate care they provided. A special thank you is extended to her caregiver, Charlesetta Green who has been a treasured family friend.
