Katie "Granny" Jones

Katie "Granny" Jones, 89, of Savannah, Georgia died Thursday morning, April 17, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Baxley, Georgia she was the daughter of the late George Thomas Lewis and Annie Orvin Lewis. Mrs. Jones was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple. Mrs. Jones and her husband formerly owned and operated Savannah Printing, Effingham Printing and Hernandez Printing. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Jones; brothers, Robert Lewis, James Lewis, Donald Lewis, Carroll Lewis, Walter "Bid" Lewis, David Lewis; sisters, Maggie Sellers, Loyce Smith; deceased sisters-in-law, Ada Beth Lewis, Vivian Lewis. Deceased brothers-in-law, Odell Sellers, Walter Smith, Harvey Vincent

Surviving are one daughter, Kay Hardy and her husband James B "Buddy" Hardy III of Rincon; one son, Glenn Jones and his wife Lynda of Savannah, Georgia; four grandchildren, Heather H. Shell, Allison H. Cordero and her husband Jimmy, Meghan J. Newell and her husband Daniel Newell, and Dr. Blake Jones and his wife Dr. Candace C. Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Staten Gregory Shell, Sutton Gray Shell, Ella Katherine "Ellakate" Cordero, Easton Hardy Cordero, Pierce Shepherd Newell, Lane Deacon Newell and Ryleigh Mae Jones.; brother; Roy Lewis (Bonnie); sisters, Ann Vincent, Brenda Barbos (Achim); sisters-in-law: Sara Lewis, Winifred Lewis, Christine Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 10 o’clock until 11 o’clock Monday morning at Calvary Baptist Temple, 4625 Waters Ave Savannah. The funeral service will follow at 11 o’clock in the morning at the church. Interment will be at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon in Omega Cemetery in Baxley, Georgia.
