SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - June Waveline Porter Brown, 88, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of William Miller Brown, Sr., died Saturday morning, June 4, 2011, at Savannah Square.
Born in Lima, Ohio, she was the only child of the late Walter Earl Porter and the late Carol Iva Snider Porter. Mrs. Brown was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church and was a retired Elementary School Teacher. She loved her family, her pets, all animals, and the State of Florida.
Surviving are her son, William "Bill" Miller Brown, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth "Beth "of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter Carolyn Meeker, of Mooresville, North Carolina; two step daughters, Susan Mong and her husband, Bill, of Florida, Nancy Butler and her husband, Charles, of Washington, D.C.; two granddaughters, Lisa Lee and her husband, David, of Lima, Ohio, Emily Brown of Savannah, Georgia; two grandsons, Billy Brown and Blake Brown both of Savannah, Georgia; several great grandchildren including Charles Bolender and Lindsay Sherrard both of Lima, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Entombment will be 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 5740 South Pine Avenue, Ocala, Florida.
