Julie Nichols Simmons, 54, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Gerry Simmons, died Tuesday evening, January 16, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Simmons was born in the Panama Canal Zone, Panama, to Bruce P. Nichols and the late Mary Lynn H. Nichols. She was a long-time educator in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. At the time of her death, Mrs. Simmons was currently the assistant principal at White Bluff Elementary School.
In addition to her father, survivors include her beloved husband, Gerry Simmons of Savanah; sister, Stacy N. Collins; niece, Meagan Downing; nephew, Christopher T. Collins III; uncle, Dennis Henderson; aunt, Sara Henderson Voss, and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday, February 10, 2018, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Julie Nichols Simmons.
