Julia Jeannette Morris Drane, 85, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Jack Washington Drane, died Tuesday morning, April 21, 2015, at her home on Fleming Island, Florida, surrounded by her family.



Born in Daisy, Georgia, she was the youngest of 10 children of the late Ambrose Elijah Morris and the late Hattie Estelle Morgan Morris. Mrs. Drane was a charter member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. She was a retired executive assistant for the Jewish Educational Alliance. Grandma, as she was known to her grandchildren, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who also enjoyed sewing.



Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Jack Washington Drane of Fleming Island, Florida; two daughters, Angela Galletta and her husband, Nick, of Fleming Island, Florida, and Debra Rhodes and her husband, Jim, of Bridgewater, Virginia; five grandchildren, Christopher Galletta and his wife, Jessica, Anne Crosby and her husband, Billy, Mandy Leeth and her husband, Tim, Marsha Sykes and her husband, Shane, and Jack Galletta and his wife, Caren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Friday morning at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Enoch L. Hendry. Interment will be at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
