SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Judith "Judi" Marie Kirby, 49, of Savannah, Georgia, died Sunday afternoon, May 23, 2010, at Memorial Health University Medical Center as a result of an automobile accident.
Born in Little Fairy, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late John James Hackitt II and the late Grace Whish Holbert. Judi was a graduate of Miami-Jacobs Career College in Dayton, Ohio, and was with the Kroger Company. Judi especially loved being with her grandchildren (who called her Nay Nay), nieces and nephews, and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her longtime companion, Jay Lowery of Savannah, Georgia; her daughter, Andrea M. Eastman and her husband, Todd, of Savannah, Georgia; her son, Mack Kirby and his wife, Jennifer, of Savannah Georgia; her step-daughter, Janice Ann Engle and her husband, Mike, of Dayton, Ohio; her sisters, Debra Parker and Sharon Holiday; her brothers, John James Hackitt III and Shane Deaton; her mother-in-law, Donna Carnish; her brother-in-law, Shane Lowery; her sisters-in-law, Holly Brown and Lisa Stewart; nine grandchildren, Sierra, Justin, Isabella, Shawn, Rhaianon, Janissette, Ashley, Zack and Hailey, and nieces and nephews including Katelyn, Shane and Amber, with whom she lived and took care of.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be private.
