SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Juanita "Nita" Donaldson McDougald, 74, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of Hugh David McDougald, Jr., died Monday morning, May 17, 2010, at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Nita was born in Savannah at St. Joseph's Hospital on November 26, 1935. She graduated from Commercial High School in 1954. Nita retired from C & S National Bank (now Bank of America). She was a member of the C & S Retirees Club. Nita also worked for Liberty National Bank for many years. She was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church since 1972, where she attended the Covenant Sunday School Class. Nita was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for many years before joining White Bluff. In addition to her mother and father, Curtis Bonner Nail and Mamie Mitchell Nail and Lemuel M. Donaldson, she was preceded in death by a son, Hugh D. McDougald III.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Hugh D. McDougald, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters, Julie McDougald Diebolt and her husband, Michael J. P. Diebolt, and Brenda McDougald Anderson and her husband, Robert M. Anderson, all of Savannah, Georgia; four grandchildren, Patrick Oliver Diebolt, Leah Virginia "Ginnie" Diebolt, Matthew Scott Anderson and Nora Grace Anderson, and her brother, Durrell Donaldson and his wife, Hazel, of Savannah, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
