Joyce Weathers Beatty

Joyce Emily Weathers Beatty, 83, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of George Lewis Beatty, died Wednesday afternoon, January 10, 2018, at Riverview Health & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.



Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Jay Palmer Weathers and the late Edie Ruth Rogers Weathers. Mrs. Beatty was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and an avid gin rummy player.



In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dale Beatty.



Surviving are her son, Gary Beatty (Pat); two grandsons, Christopher Beatty (Liz), and Nicholas Beatty (Rachel); six great-grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Janis Moore; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Beatty and Charlotte Beatty, and many, many nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Robert H. Dimmitt. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
