Joy Bradley Warshaw

Joy Adel Bradley Warshaw, daughter of Aaron Louis and Hannah Bradley of Bradley Lock and Key, wife of Irvin Jack Warshaw, passed away peacefully at her home on January 05, 2022, at the age of 91.



Joy was a loving, kind-hearted mother, wife, dancer, artist and clothes designer.?? She had many muses creating a vivacious, beautiful woman that we all loved. Joy truly embodied the name that her father gave to her.



Joy pursued her passion to be a fashion designer making her own style of clothes.?? After graduating from Commercial High in Savannah, Georgia, her father would not allow her to go to New York City, so Joy opted for art school in Atlanta, at what is now The High Museum of Art.?? After graduating from art school, Joy landed her first big job in the fall of 1954 as an Art Director, designing windows in a major Atlanta department store, but her mother, Hannah Bradley, would have a different plan for Joy that summer.?? Hannah lent her hand at matchmaking and found a suitable beau for Joy.?? That beau would turn out to be her husband, Irvin J. Warshaw of Bennie Warshaw\'s Farmer\'s Exchange.



Irvin and Joy had a true love affair of 67 years. Their love for each other was a deep strong bond hard to describe filled with beautiful memories. Mom and Dad fell for each other after their first real date on June the 9th. They were married just barely three months later. Throughout their lives they crossed paths even from the time when Dad served Mom a Coke from behind a soda fountain at Tybee when he worked as a young teenager in the summer.



Joy\'s elegance and poise were grounded in ballet from Rosilee Cutler School of Dance and later with Arthur Murray Dance School.



She even used dance as a way to instill in her children that movement is life.?? Joy, as a wife and mother, always gave much love, knowledge and teachings to those who were the dearest to her heart.



Joy\'s residence as a young girl at Tybee Island, developed into a love for the area in which she lived that forever lived on in her heart. Tybee was her sanctuary-her place of peace.?? Long walks at the back river and naps on the long screened in porch at 17th Terrace, provided serenity and a place to recharge.



Michael, Stephen, Bennie and Arlene adored their mother. Joy shared an unbreakable, special bond with each child. Her playfulness and laid-back ways were well suited for three boys. A true lover of animals, the Warshaw home was filled with dogs, unique fish and reptiles.



The Warshaw family would like to extend its?? gratitude and appreciation towards all of Joy\'s caregivers for the wonderful help and care provided over the last few years.



In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her brothers Milton Bradley, Edwin Bradley and Dennie Bradley.



Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Irvin Jack Warshaw, son Michael Warshaw, son Stephen Warshaw and daughter-in-law Carol Warshaw, son Benjamin Warshaw and daughter-in-law Deborah Warshaw, daughter Arlene Gould and son-in-law Jay Gould, 5 grandchildren, first cousins Betty Kaminsky Jacobson and Alan Kaminsky, along with several nieces and nephews.



The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Friday, January 7, 2022, at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Steven B. Henkin.
