Pearl Josephine (Jo) Nash Davis, 90, of Savannah, Georgia, died Friday afternoon,?? September 19, 2014, at Azalealand Nursing Home.?? Josephine was a communicant of St. James the Less Catholic Church.?? She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Leland 'KL' Davis (Chappell, NE), 1924-2001.



Born in the roaring 20s, in Monticello, Florida, she was raised in the Great Depression, a daughter of the late Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Aline Nash (n??e Lively) of Hawthorne, Florida.?? She graduated Valedictorian at Hawthorne before working at Southern Bell in Jacksonville, Florida during World War II.?? She married Ken Davis, May 1949 in St. Augustine, Florida, later moving to Augusta, Georgia ' North Augusta, South Carolina for Ken's work at the new Savannah River 'Bomb' Plant where they raised a family, 1952-1980.?? Her family, Ken plus sons George, Tim, and Bobby, were active at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and School, North Augusta.?? She followed Ken to DuPont Plant DeLisle, Bay St. Louis MS, 1980 where she and Ken were active members of St John the Evangelist, Gulfport, Mississippi from 1980-2001.?? Ken retired from DuPont while Jo remained active in the community including volunteer at Gulfcoast Community Hospital, Biloxi, Mississippi.?? Mrs. Davis moved to Savanah in 2002 to be close to family after Ken's tragic death in a traffic crash.?? She will be remembered by her friends, family, nieces and nephews for her always positive attitude, ever-present smile, optimism, joy of life and 'awe-shucks' approach to any disappointment.?? She and her generation were children of the Great Depression, World War II, and Korean War.?? Whatever happened, they had always seen it worse.



Surviving are her 'boys', three sons, George, of West Panama City Beach, Florida, Tim, of Arlington, Virginia, and Bobby, of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, Jordan, of Charleston, West Virginia, Ryan Timothy, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Erica Lindsey, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and three great-grandchildren.



The memorial service will be celebrated at 10:30, Saturday morning, October 4, 2014 at St. James the Less Catholic Church, Savannah, Georgia, conducted by Father Mark J. Ross.?? Entombment will be beside her husband at 11:30 o'clock Thursday morning, September 24, 2014 in Floral Hills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Gulfport Mississippi.
