SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Joseph "Joe" Edward Shuman, Jr., 66, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Ceal Linderman Shuman, died Tuesday afternoon, November 1, 2011, at Tara at Thunderbolt Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Joseph Edward Shuman, Sr. and the late Chestine Marie Wingard Shuman. Joe was a Christian and served as a Sergeant in the Georgia Army National Guard. He retired from Savannah Apparatus and was a former bartender for The Port Royal on River Street.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Ceal Linderman Shuman of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Joanne S. Wilson and her husband, Douglas, of Port Wentworth; two nephews, Marshall Wilson and his wife, Chris, of Meldrim, Georgia, and Joseph D. Wilson and his wife, Taylor, of Lancaster, South Carolina, and his sister-in-law, Leah Larkin of Savannah.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be private.
