Joseph 'Joe' Donald Perry, 63, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Mary Paula Perry, died Thursday afternoon, April 20, 2017, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, he was a son of the late Joseph Marcellus Perry and the late Teresa Mary Weig Perry. Joe was a member of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church. He worked with Western Auto for 20 years and later retired from J. C. Lewis Ford as a mechanic and service writer. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and flying model planes; however, his favorite was playing rummy for hours with his wife, Mary.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Mary Paula Perry; one daughter, Irene Perry Wood and her husband, Clinton; two sons, Anthony J. Perry and his wife, Ashley, and Steven A. Perry; three grandchildren, Cameron Joseph Perry, Kiersten Ann Perry and Cayden David Perry; his mother-in-law, Irene Andris; one sister, Patricia 'Patty' Stephan; one brother, William Michael 'Mike' Perry and his wife, Lynne, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Monday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue with the Trisagion service being held at 7 in the chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o\'clock Tuesday afternoon at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church conducted by Father Vasile Mihai. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
