Joseph 'Joey' Leon Kerr, Jr., 62, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday morning, March 5, 2020, at Memorial University Medical Center.



Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of Joseph Leon Kerr, Sr. and the late Ann Reed Kerr. Joey was of the Catholic faith. He was a 1976 graduate of Jenkins High School. Joey was an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 508. He was employed as an ENI supervisor with Pinova as well as with Rayonier and Kerr-McGee. Joey loved boating, hunting, and fishing with his children and friends. He also loved riding his Harley during bike week in Daytona.



In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Charles Kerr, and a brother-in-law, Glenn Bowen.



Surviving are his wife, Barbara Nelson Lanier; one daughter, Rebekah Kerr; two sons, Joseph L. 'Trey' Kerr III and his wife, Kori, and Michael G. Kerr; two grandchildren, Keyli Kerr and Julia Kerr; his father, Joseph Leon Kerr, Sr.; one sister, Suzie Kerr Bowen; one niece, Traci Shreck and her husband, Mark; two nephews, Brian Bowen and his wife, Elise, and Travis Bowen and his wife, Summer; two step-children, Gabriel 'Gabe' Usry and his wife Kadi, and Natalie Lanier, and two step-grandsons, Spencer and Layton Usry.



The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2020, at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon, March 9, 2020, at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
