SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Joseph Maurice Italiaander, 88, Retired commodities broker, died peacefully on Saturday morning, Dec. 4, 2010, with his family in Litchfield, CT.
At the time of his death he resided at The Landings on Skidaway Island, Savannah, GA. He was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y. where he lived until he became a second lieutenant in the Marines. In 1947 he married Elaine Pasternak, also of Brooklyn, N.Y. After a fruitful career as a commodities broker, he retired as president and chairman of Pasternak, Baum & Co., a commodities firm located in Greenwich, CT.
He leaves behind three sons, David, Scott and Michael; two daughters-in-laws, Cindy and Jeannie, and nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Simon, Michele, Isaac, Samuel, Josh, Eli and Max. He had many friends and family who loved him very much. He was an example of kindness to all that knew him. He will be loved and missed by all.
The funeral service will be held at 12 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery.
