John Alan Tilton, 56, of Savannah, Georgia, died Wednesday evening, January 4, 2017, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Eugene Tilton and the late Jacquelyn Davis Tilton. John was a self-employed carpenter who enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Lynette Tilton; his sister, Theresa Murray Klein, and his granddaughter, Paige Tilton.
Surviving are his children, Marie Stokes of Eden, Georgia and John Tilton and his wife, Jennifer, of Pooler, Georgia; his grandchildren, Cheyenne Stokes, Trey Stokes, Nathan Stokes, Joshua Stokes, David Tilton and Hunter Stokes; his two sisters, Faye Anthony and her husband, Wayne, and Gail Williams, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o\'clock Saturday afternoon, January 14, 2017, at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
