John Jeffrey 'Jeff' Thompson, 61, of Pooler, Georgia and husband of Karen Rene Hall Thompson, died Sunday evening, October 25, 2015, at his home.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late John Price Thompson and the late Dorothy Harvey Thompson. Jeff was of the First Southern Methodist faith. He was an avid Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves fan. Jeff thoroughly enjoyed being in the middle of politics.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Anthony Price.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Karen Rene Hall Thompson of Pooler; two daughters, Marci Ann Upchurch and her husband, Jason, of Pooler, and Megan Rene Gillingham and her husband, Christopher, of Savannah; one son, John Christopher 'Chris' Thompson of Pooler; five grandchildren, Hazel Thompson, Dominic Thompson, Jace Nolan Kennedy, Rylie Alyce Gillingham and Christopher Frederick 'C. J.' Gillingham, Jr.; one sister, Linda Boaen and her husband, Everette, of Savannah, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Walter Gaskin. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
