John Peter Sheehan was born in Savannah February 23, 1957. He met his wife of 41 years, Julie Sheehan in 1981 and they were married in 1982.
John had several passions in life. He loved the outdoors, whether that was camping with Julie or hiking and backpacking with his sons or many of his backpacking friends. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and loved watching their games. One of his greatest joys was serving on the Walk to Emmaus and Kairos Prison Ministry. He loved helping to tell other men about the life and faith that he had found in Jesus.
John was a gentle, kind soul who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Sheehan, of Savannah, GA; son and daughter in law Jonathan Sheehan and Jennifer Sheehan of Marietta, GA; son and daughter in law Matthew and Danielle Sheehan of Fernandina Beach, FL; son and daughter in law Timothy and Megan Sheehan of Norcross, GA; siblings Susan Witting, Michael Sheehan, Billy Sheehan, Maureen Bryant, Jimmy Sheehan; mother Jean Sheehan; grandchildren: Noah, Sophie, Oliver, Kelsey Ann, Archer, and Daniel.
