John Steven Peacock

d. August 24, 2021

John Steven Peacock, 45, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Memorial Health Hospital after a long illness. John attended local schools, graduated from Savannah Corporate Academy, and attended South College.

With the encouragement of his step grandfather, John settled into the life of a trucker...both local and long haul from coast to coast and border to border, even into Canada and Mexico. He loved the trucking life, but illness forced him into retirement. John also loved his family and decided in 2012 that he needed to become his Aunt Lynne\'s protector in her daily struggles with Transverse Myelitis. As often as possible, he scheduled his week off after being on the road for three weeks so that he could be with her if she had a reaction to medical infusions; however, she became his caregiver and protector.

John spent his childhood at Bible Baptist Church, where he trusted Christ as his Savior. Recently, he became a member of and loved worshipping close to his home at the Southwest Baptist Church in Savannah.

He was preceded in death by his maternal Great Grandparents John and Pauline Campbell. Grandfather Chester Hillman Boatright, Sr. Step grandfather James Wesley Mitchell. Step father Tommy Rhodes. Uncle Leon W. Campbell. Step sister Kimberly Rhodes. Step uncle Jimmy Mitchell. Paternal Grandparents Robert and Sarah Peacock. Step brother Kevin Lawless.
