John "Bill" Mcdougald

John William 'Bill' McDougald, 78, of Juliette, Georgia and husband of Martha King McDougald, died Monday morning, April 29, 2013, at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.



Born in Marlboro County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Hugh David McDougald, Sr. and the late Martha Roller McDougald. Mr. McDougald was a member and Deacon of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church in Macon and was the group leader at Bible Study Fellowship International. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Corporation and was sales manager for Engleside Electric Company. Mr. McDougald served in the Georgia National Guard, the Kentucky National Guard, and was a member of The Cobra Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert King McDougald; a grandson, Billy Michael McDougald, four sisters, Grace McDougald, Jenny Loncon, Mildred Eadie and Lib Morrison, and one brother, Daniel L. McDougald.



Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Martha King McDougald of Juliette; one daughter, Martha Shane McDougald of Juliette; two sons, William Christopher 'Chris' McDougald of Durango, Colorado, and Jon Richard 'Rick' McDougald and his wife, Kerri, of Lithia, Florida; six grandchildren, Ian Boxhorn, Derek Boxhorn, Erin Voilrol, Chelsea Tavarez, Dalton Shane Neal and John William Smith; one brother, Hugh David McDougald, Jr. of Savannah; one sister, Vivian M. Poplin of Aiken, South Carolina, and a number of nieces and nephews.



The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah, conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney.



A memorial service will be held in Macon at a time and date to be announced.
