John Dannemann Jensen, 88, of Savannah, Georgia, and widower of Frances Louise May Jensen, died Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021, at his home at The Oaks at The Marshes of Skidaway Island.



Born in Copenhagen Denmark, he was the son of the late Jens Peter Jensen and the late Sonja Quist Jensen. Mr. Jensen was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple. He was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Jensen retired as an electrical engineer from Gulfstream Aerospace. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Alee Shriners, where he was a part of the Keystone Cops. Mr. Jensen was a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and also was an avid golfer.



In addition to his wife of 47 years and his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja Fields; a son, David Jensen, and a sister, Edie D'Andrade.



Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Thomson and her husband, David, and Dina Jensen, all of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Richard James and his wife, Rhonda, of Cobbtown, Georgia,?? Randy James and his wife, Judy, of Townsend, Georgia; and son-in-law, Jamie Fields of Savannah, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, Cherese Waters, Jessica Thomson, Mallory Poythress and her husband, Rich, Justin Fields, Bill Edgy IV, Jake James and his wife Georgette, Jessica Hill and her husband, Jake, Rhyne Collins and her husband, Lee, R. L. James, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, Haley James, Brandon James, and Laci James, and nine great-grandchildren.



The funeral service will be held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon, May 23, 2021, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
