John A. 'Jay' Disk, 69, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Ginny Hunter Disk, died Tuesday afternoon, August 16, 2016, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late John George Disk and the late Ida Elizabeth Willer Disk. Jay was retired from Rowe Drilling Company. He attended the University of Georgia, where he played football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Disk.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Ginny Hunter Disk; two sons, Nick Disk and his wife, Sara, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and Jeff Disk of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Nancy Disk and her fianc??e, Giacinto Soldi, both of Florence, Italy; one brother, Tom Disk and his wife, Deborah, of Choudrant, Louisiana; a sister-in-law, Ginger Disk of Evans, Georgia; a nephew, Tyler Disk of Atlanta, Georgia; a granddaughter, Ella Disk, and a grandson, Aaron Reolegio.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held 11 o'clock Friday morning at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Interment will be private.
