Joelle Corre Locke, 82, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Gordon Franklin Locke, died Saturday morning, September 20, 2014, at Savannah Square and under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice.
Born in Ollioules, France, she was a daughter of the late Auguste Corre and the late Aimee Pennognon Corre. Mrs. Locke was an interpreter/translator for the United States Army and retired from civil service at Hunter Army Airfield.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Gordon Franklin Locke of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Armelle Kelly and her husband, Robert, of Pooler, Georgia; two sons, Perry James Locke and Thomas G. Locke and his wife, Boni, all of Port Charlotte, Florida; seven grandchildren, Robert Kelly, Michael Kelly, Shane Locke, Aaron Locke, Shannon Locke, Heather Locke and Crystal Locke; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Michelle LeFe and Annick LeRoy, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue conducted by The Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett. Interment will be in France.
The family will receive friends after the service until 3:30 o'clock.
