RICHMOND HILL, GEORGIA - JoAnn Eileen Browne McPherson, 48, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, widow of Clyde McPherson, died Sunday afternoon, August 30, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.
Born in Washington, DC, she was a daughter of the late Bernard Henry Browne and the late Sarah Regina Diggs Browne. Mrs. McPherson was of the Catholic faith and was a wastewater treatment facility operator for the City of Savannah for twelve years. She was a United States Army veteran. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dawn Marie Browne.
Surviving are her son, Hector M. Irizarry and his wife, Michelle, of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Angela Denise Muhammad of Sierra Vista, Arizona; four nieces, Lynne Marie Finley and her husband, Vincent, Adora Monique Browne, Sarah Fatimah Muhammad and Lina Yasmin Muhammad; two nephews, Jibreel Hasan Muhammad and Khalil Abdalaziz Muhammad, and two great-nephews, Malik and Joshua.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 12 o'clock Friday morning at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Jeffrey R. Thornburg. Interment will be private.
