Jo Ellis Stumpf, 89, of Savannah, Georgia, died peacefully Sunday evening, May 23, 2021, at Spanish Oaks Retreat.
Born and reared in Southeastern Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Charles Ellis, Sr. and Martha Ellis. As a military wife, Jo lived in multiple domestic and international locations. She was a fabulous cook, most famous for her Christmas treats. She was also a voracious reader. Jo enjoyed teaching swimming lessons and never missed an opportunity to be by the pool. ??She also was a big fan of the Olympics, particularly figure skating. Jo enjoyed spending time with her family most of all and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by a brother, Charles 'Bubsy' Ellis, Jr., and a sister, Sandra 'Sandy' Ellis Smith.
Survivors include her sons, Charles J. Stumpf IV, John Craig Stumpf and his wife Meredith, Brian Ellis Stumpf and his wife Victoria; grandchildren, John Stumpf, Matthew Stumpf, and Dr. Alaina Stumpf O'Brien and her husband Dr. Jack O'Brien; great-granddaughter, Camilla Gene O'Brien.
