On Sunday, September 27, 2020, Jimmy Gerido Jr., a loving son, brother and friend passed away at age of 61.
Jimmy was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1959 to Marie S. Bowman and Jimmy (Albertha) Gerido, Sr. He graduated from Savannah High School in 1977. Jimmy attended Savannah State University for three years before joining the United States Navy. Jimmy traveled the world while in the navy serving on the newly recommission battleship USS New Jersey in the 1980's as a radio operator on its world tour. Savannah was always home to him, Jimmy had a loving a heart for his community, he loved his family and he loved his friends. Jimmy had a servant's heart always, always assisting others when asked for help, whether it was with his time, money or with food. He lived life to the fullest and was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan.
Jimmy was preceded in death by a younger brother Shawn Anthony Jones twenty-three years ago on the same day. He is survived by his brothers Michael (Anita), Steven (Tonya), Rodney (Leona), Troy (Teneka), Muhammad (Loleatha), Dwan (Lynette) and a sister Sequoia (Korey), several cousins, nieces and a nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 Wednesday afternoon, October 7, 2020, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be private.
