Jimmie Johnson Tate, 78, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Wilbur 'Bill' Fitzgerald Tate, Jr., died Sunday evening, October 28, 2012, at her home.
Born in Millen, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Johnson and the late Winnie Ernest Johnson. Mrs. Tate was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Tate was an avid reader who also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs; however, more importantly, she was all about loving and caring for her family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Neher.
Surviving are three daughters, Kim Ramos and Sally Deal and her husband, Roscoff, all of Savannah, Georgia, and Susan West and her husband, Kim, of Acworth, Georgia; one son, Bill Tate and his wife, Christine, of Savannah, Georgia; her daughter-in-law, Renee Neher of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Sally Flanders of Griffin, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o\'clock Tuesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o\'clock Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Thomas T. Oliver.?? Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park - East.
