Jesse Henry Strickland, 75, of Savannah, died Tuesday morning, July 29, 2014, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Ludowici, Georgia, he was a son of the late Tillman Henry Strickland and the late Ethel Durrence Strickland. Mr. Strickland was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from??Georgia Southern University. Mr. Strickland was a United States Air Force veteran having earned the rank of Captain. He was a writer who also enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra.
Surviving are his daughter, Melanie Strickland Brown and her husband, David, of Savannah, Georgia; his son, Mark Strickland?? and his wife, Tabitha, of Savannah, Georgia; four grandchildren, Kayla, Ben, Rachael and Dakota; his brother, J. D. Strickland and his wife, Bobette, of Acworth, Georgia, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Jerry L. Claxton. Interment, with full military honors, will be at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the graveside, Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
