Jeanette Ruth Jackson Grier, 82, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of James Lester Grier, died Thursday evening, June 20, 2013 at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James M. Jackson and the late Lena Shearouse Jackson. Mrs. Grier was a Christian. She worked many years as a banquet manager for the catering and hospitality industry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, a daughter, Sandra Coyle, and a niece whom she reared for many years, Paula Jackson.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Lester Grier of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Sheree Lott and her husband, Dave, of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and six sisters, Theresa Jernigan and her husband, Jim, Jane Blethen, Mary Grier, Lilly Ford, Barbara Tilton and her husband, Charles, and Brenda Craven and her husband, Billy.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the graveside, Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Jerry Warren.
