Jean Osborne Newton Cottier, 60, of Savannah, GA passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 4th, 2018.
Jean was born in Hanover, PA on July 1st, 1958 to Randy and Vicki Osborne. She graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1980 with a Bachelor\'s degree in psychology and later earned a Master of Education degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2006. She worked for more than 35 years in various capacities within the juvenile justice system and adult court systems in Georgia most recently as Chatham County Superior Court Deputy Administrator and Drug Court Coordinator. Jean dedicated her professional and personal life to helping others improve their own lives as mentor, counselor and by living example.
She had an extraordinary zest for life and loved all things science, nature and arts have to offer and especially loved being outdoors kayaking, mountain hiking and being one with nature. Jean cherished her family, friends and personal relationships above all else and had a great gift for helping everyone she touched be a better person. She'll forever be remembered as 'Duchess' by her adoring grandchildren who brought her perhaps the greatest joys in her lifetime.
Jean's survived by her husband, Kevin Cottier of Savannah, GA; one son, Brian Newton (Amanda) Savannah, GA; one daughter, Lauren Newton (Justin Holbrook) Portland, OR; five grandchildren, Caleb, Colby and Madison Newton, Alder and Eero Holbrook; her parents Randy & Vicki Osborne of Bristol, TN; one sister, Lori Osborne of Bristol, TN; three brothers, Steve Osborne (Cindy) of Kansas City, MO; Mike Osborne (Sue) of Bristol, VA and Ray Osborne of Bristol, TN and several nieces and nephews.
