Jean Tenenbaum Birnbaum, age 91, of Savannah, GA passed away on April 16, 2020.?? She was born June 21, 1928 in Dorchester, MA to the late Mayer and Charlotte Tenenbaum.
An accomplished artist, she expressed her feelings with various mediums.?? She often took her easel to downtown Savannah and would draw historic landmarks. ??She won many artistic awards throughout her life. ??She was very active in the Jewish community and was a Cub Scout leader.
Jean is predeceased by her husband, Paul Birnbaum; her son, Dr. Stuart Birnbaum; sisters and brother-in-laws Edwin and Harriet Levin and Melvin and Irene Sandler.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (and Ken) Goldblatt, Stuart's wife Pam Birnbaum, and Dr. David (and Denise) Birnbaum;??her grandchildren Mark (and Jen) Goldblatt, Amy (and Curtis) Bianchi, Brittany Brewer, Brooke (and Mark) Turnbow, Jacob Birnbaum, Michael Birnbaum (and Fianc?? Rachel Faulkner), and Ashley Birnbaum.?? She was blessed to have five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob, Abby, Caleb and Nikolaus;??sister-in-law Harriett Ullman and the late Albert Ullman; nieces Dyan (and Ken) Cotton and Meredith (and Alan) Rosoff, Doreen (and Dr. Jack) Goldberg, Adrienne (and Ed) Misiph and her great grand-nieces and nephews.
Jean will be buried in Savannah at Bonaventure Cemetery.?? Due to COVID-19, there will be no graveside services, nor will there be calling hours.?? A memorial service may be set at a later date.
