Jane Lyle Wootton passed away April 14, 2017, at her home in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. A native Savannahian, Jane was born August 4, 1929.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Katie Pindar and James Young Wootton; and sisters, Catherine Scholl, Harriett Harms and Amelia Dreese. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A longtime Administrative Educator, Ms. Wootton served as Principal at many Atlanta schools including Warren T. Jackson Elementary, which was the last before her retirement to Florida, where she enjoyed a leisurely lifestyle, yachting and golfing with friends.
A celebration of Jane\'s life will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue. Visitation from 12 noon until 1 o'clock. The memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm, in the chapel. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery; concluding with a reception at the home of Janet Goethe, 48 East 48th Street.
Remembrances to: Wesleyan College, Macon, Georgia or First Baptist Church of Savannah.
